This is a day to give thanks for all that we have, and all that we have learned, and all that we love. Enjoy your turkey (or Tofurkey, or whatever you eat) and take a moment to reflect.

Love to you all, and peace be in your house.

I've already slept late by about ninety minutes (during which I had *very* odd dream about the IRS) and copied all my text files to a CD for downloading to my laptop, which is smaller than an encyclopedia volume and a gorgeous cochineal red. Remaining to do:

1. Take a bath and get dressed.

2. Go check on Todd and Barbara's menagerie, which currently includes four cats (one of them Malfoy's father, Soxquatch Leroy), a rat terrier puppy, and a new house with about 45 million boxes, most of them still unopened. Fortunately they now live within five minutes of Una (see below).

3. Go to Una's for Thanksgiving. I asked her mother what I should bring, and she replied, "Your appetite." I'm still going to go over a bit early to help with setting the table.

4. Watch a lot of Thanksgiving TV.

5. Repeat #2.

6. Come home and have a slice of the leftover pie that Roomie will be bringing home after *her* Thanksgiving at a friend's house.

7. Digest.

Dinner: excellent. Una's uncle and brother were over, and several friends, and we had turkey, stuffing, corn, potatoes, red cabbage with bacon, rolls, cornbread, good wine, chocolate pie, lemon meringue pie, mashed turnips, and cole slaw, not necessarily in that order. We also watched the Detroit Lions turn in an utterly pathetic performance as they lost to Tennessee, 47-10.

Text files: copied and transferred to Ruby Red, the new computer.

Todd and Barbara's cats: pissed as hell about the dog, especially Malfoy's father.

The puppy: cute, lonely, kept trying to eat the cat food, would *not* go potty outside, and yipping up a storm. She had also left visible signs of her displeasure, which I cleaned as best I could and spritzed with Nature's Miracle. I really did not want them to come back to find that the dog had shown its displeasure on, say, someone's bed, so I gave up and crated her for the night. She wasn't happy, but what could I do? At least now she'll go on the papers...

Home now, making a simple dinner and waiting for Roomie to come home. Hope all are well and happy!
