Thought #1: Wahoo! It's a significant improvement on the current model.
Thought #2: Plug-in capability sounds great, but what does it do to one's electric bill?
And #3: Essentially, you're shifting from petroleum-based gasoline to coal-based electricity, unless you're lucky enough to be able to generate your own power consistently.
Yeah, you're shifting the power source, but you're avoiding the entropy of starting and stopping the engine -- power plants don't shut down twice (or more) a day the way car engines do.
