Yes, I did fall asleep in the MRI tube. *snickers*

Now I just have to wait for the results....

Okay, I'm sure I've just missed something along the way, but I'm finally going to ask. Why are you having an MRI? *hugs*

Because I have one of these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_neuroma) in my right ear. I was diagnosed last December and scheduled for two follow up MRIs, one in March and the one today, to see if it grew.

If it hasn't grown, I get an MRI every fall for the rest of my life. If it has, I either have it removed or have it irradiated to kill it. I'll find out in the next day or two....

Don't you love chronic medical conditions? I know I do. ;) Good luck.

My mom said, when she had hers, that she now totally understood why Paris Hilton like Valium so much.

Oh, it's a peach. :D

Major symptoms right now: tinnitus in the right ear, about a 25% loss of hearing, and the occasional balance problem when I'm very tired. Other than that, I'm pretty much okay. It's just weird knowing that I have this little *growth* in my head....

Yes, I know exactly how you feel because I have one on my thyroid and I don't like that it's there either! Not at all.

I have tinnitus too, as a symptom of fibromyalgia. It is so freaking annoying, isn't it? I've just learned to live with it, but I don't do so happily!

Geez, I can't imagine getting an MRI. Actually, yes I can and it brings on nightmares. How on Earth did you manage to fall asleep? If I ever have to have one I imagine they will have to sedate me.

I closed my eyes and sort of drifted. :D

Seriously, I'm not at all claustrophic, and I don't mind small, enclosed spaces. Besides, the noise is seriously reminiscent of the special effects from Star Trek, so it was weirdly comforting.

I asked the tech about sedation, and she said yes, a lot of people need a dose of Xanax. They also have an open MRI tube, including a variation for MRI's of the head, for the severely claustrophic.

At the same time, a lot of people fall asleep. Go figure.

I could handle having just my head inside, or just my body inside, but not both.

Glad it went well for you and I hope the results are good.

I would need the Xanax. I am claustrophobic of my own silly doing from childhood.
