Gah! That is terrifying...I don't know about the Academy, but the Army and Air Force people we knew when my husband was active duty in the first Gulf War were certainly not like that, including the Chaplain Corp.

I appreciate that! IMH non-Christian O, I think a lot more Christians need to be outspoken in saying just those words. I was very active on an online religion discussion group for over a year, until the final straw broke the camel's back when some fundamentalist said something I just couldn't take...I came very close to writing off every Chrisian I knew for about five minutes, until I remembered most are like you, not of that mindset.
