And I did NOT go anywhere near a mall. The closest I came was downtown Northampton for lunch with Mistress C at a good semi-vegetarian restaurant, which wasn't all that close.

I also ordered my euros for January, bought cat food and tea, and went to Sage Books to sell some of the culls from my collection. I used the proceeds to buy more books, of course...:)

'Mall'? What's a 'mall'?

[livejournal.com profile] helwen had her first PT session today, at CDH in Northampton. Afterwards, we went to S&S on King St., and then down to Main St. to the bank. The center of town was pretty quiet in the morning...

C and I were there in the early afternoon, and the shoppers had started to come out. It was still a vast improvement over what had to be a mob scene at Ingleside...I'm not going anywhere *near* that place this weekend. *shudder*

Black Friday?

The day after Thanksgiving is the "traditional" start of the Christmas shopping season. This means that the shopping malls are crammed with folk in search of Really Big Bargains. Many stores open as early as 4:00 a.m. and stay open late, with "early bird specials" until 9:00 a.m.

It's utter and complete madness, and I refuse to participate. Thus the quiet lunch with a friend, the trip to a used bookstore, and the purchase as little as possible.

You Betta Off. Definitely. If I'd had my druthers, I would have been home in bed, nursing my cold, and not working a 8-5:30 shift (and another tomorrow).

Eek - that does sound a bit scary. I think you're strategy's better!
