I just got a report from them to the effect that the MRI I had back in August was completely covered...except for a $150.00 co-pay. I did not have such a co-pay for either my first or second MRI's, and have not (yet) received a bill from Mercy Hospital.

My co-pay was $250. I think you got off lightly... policy changed sometime over the summer, I'd say.

We *did* go from BC/BS to HMO Blue. HR assured us that nothing would change, and I'm not surprised to find that this was not quite true, given how lousy work has been over the past yer....

Yup, that's what we have, HMO Blue. *sigh* OTOH, still glad I don't have to pay the whole thing. And only $20/PT session (they're $110).

Glad your MRI wasn't as much as mine, and I sincerely hope they don't go up, since you get one annually now...

We've been getting a letter every week or so for months from our HMO explaining how much of such-and-such medical procedure they were going to pay, how much we were obligated to pay, and how much nobody is going to pay -- I guess it comes out of the hospital's or lab's profits, in exchange for getting the HMO's clients referred to it in the first place. The latest of these letters, I think, was for a procedure in June. And of course, by now we have no idea what procedures were actually performed, no way of knowing whether what's being billed is legitimate, no way of knowing when the bills and co-pays for (say) June, 2008 will be completely over with...

Helluva way to run a railroad.
