Got a call from my lawyer tonight. He got a call today from the judge's clerk asking if anyone really had any objections to just giving my cousin his share of the estate outright, since my aunt's will (which she drew up herself) was so ambiguous as to any trust issues.

I immediately said NO, I had no objections to him getting his inheritance in one lump sum as opposed to dribbled out for years and years and years. Lawyer was pleased and said he'd call Denise to get her okay (which I'm sure she'll give, since she didn't think much of that clause either). Given that, it looks like it's clear sailing on Monday for the estate hearing.

Even better: under Pennsylvania law, the judge will have 30 days to issue his ruling on the estate. And after that, there are thirty days during which any of the interested parties may object to the estate. After that, the estate is distributed.

Which means that unless there's some catastrophe, the whole emo drama of my aunt's estate will be over, finished, kaput, by June 21st, and the estate will be distributed by early July.

And Dobby will be FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
