ellid: (madonna patchwork)
I slept late, did the laundry, dyed a pair of old painter's pants a lovely sapphire blue, and generally hung out. I also finished knitting the body of a little evening bag of twisted sari scraps spun into a coarse, slubby yarn in Tibet. It's quite artsy and ethnic, and will be donated for next year's church auction.

I also contacted a contractor associated with my church to get estimates on some badly needed work on the house. On the list: siding repair by the front door, new flooring in the living room, dining room, kitchen, and my bedroom (I'd love hardwood but will probably go with laminate or bamboo), and painting in the living room, hallway, foyer, and possibly the bathroom. I'm also planning to have the screen door onto the deck repaired.

Tomorrow I go back to work and will drop off an article to be scanned at Staples...I also am waiting to hear from a local library about a speaking gig later this year on (you guessed it) medieval quilts and patchwork. I've never actually done this for a community group before, so it should be a fun new experience.

This weekend: research at UMass on Spanish textiles and Italian silk brocades. And next week Betty's estate finally clears, and Dobby is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........................
