Governor Patrick's 18 year old daughter came out in the current issue of Bay Windows. She sounds like a smart, together kid, and I *love* her mother's reaction to the news.

Best of all, she's coming to Smith! :D

So I'm reading that first sentence, and "came out" had the usual meaning, but then I got to "... on the current issue of Bay Windows." Huh? I didn't know bay windows were a divisive issue enough to come out for or against them. Perhaps there are different types of bay windows, and preference matters? Which one fits best on a Cape-style home? Which one is best for Beacon Hill? I have no idea! Perhaps this is a spoof, of "Mom, don't be mad, but I'm Bay."

So I clicked the article.

Right. "... in the current issue ..." of a periodical I don't recognize yet.

Some of us are more dense than others, some days.

I love what another friend of mine said about it (paraphrasing, since it was a locked post): So, among the anti-marriage folks - who's going to tell him they're going to fuck with his baby girl's wedding day?

(Sadly, I don't actually believe him being the gov will deter the rabid rabble one whit, but I like how she framed it.)
