And it's GORGEOUS! The kitchen looks twice as big, and the foyer seems completely opened up! It looks wonderful!
Even better, Cotton Tree Service came this morning and pruned the big sugar maple in the front yard, took out two hideous yew bushes that were overwhelming the building, mowed the back yard, and cleaned the gutters. They still need to prune back the rose bush in front and mow the yard, plus finish raking the driveway, but that will have to wait until the remains of the old carpet and linoleum have been picked up by the trash haulers on Monday.
What remains to be done inside the house:
Painting the kitchen cabinets. They're primed and ready to go, but needed to dry overnight.
Putting the appliances back in the kitchen. The refrigerator looks quite fetching next to the fireplace, but it really does need to go into its alcove. Ditto the stove, so I can a cup of tea at some point *rolls eyes*
New rug down. Should be done last of all. I believe there's going to be at least one more coat of sealing primer where thelittle bastards Triple Felinoid, uh, relieved itself, and I'm definitely planning to get a vinyl runner for that section of flooring, at least until I'm sure I can trust them. It'll be under the breakfront anyway, so big whoop.
Power washing the deck and putting on a coat of Thompson's water seal. Probably done next week.
All in all, I've been *extremely* pleased with the work that the contractor has done. The workers have been careful, diligent, and very precise, and the results are beautiful. The house looks so much better already!
