I think I sprained my left ankle, most likely while getting dressed this morning. How this happened is still a mystery.

In more pleasant news, stopped by Macy's during their sale last night and scored five tops and two pair of trousers. Tried and failed to find a nice dress for [livejournal.com profile] nazrynn's wedding, unless it's okay for me to wear a black skirt (yes, I'm old fashioned, but I've never felt comfortable wearing black to a wedding).

After the shopping spree I stopped by Barnes & Noble to see if the new J.D. Robb had been published yet, and who did I spot but [livejournal.com profile] mizpagan and her husband in line at the cafe! Of course I went up to say hello, and we chatted for a bit. I was hoping to make the Ashfield Fall Festival, but after the ankle business this morning decided to hold off on the grounds that limping my way through town was not necessarily a good idea....

It's okay to wear black to a wedding, really. In NYC, it's unusual to see any wedding guest NOT in black, unless it's someone's grandmother.

Also, it is after Labor Day, so dark colors are acceptable.

I don't see any problem with wearing black to the wedding. It's a formal occasion, black is formal, imo. Now if I was wearing black, and since it's not a goth wedding, there'd be a problem. :) But guests? No problem, whatsoever.

Hope your ankle heals up - take it easy over there. *hug*

And are you bringing a guest?

Eep! Sorry to hear about the ankle. Guess I won't be seeing you until next Sunday then. Take care!

Not bringing a guest, unless you *really* want me to show up with Malfoy in his carrier ;) He's the closest I have to a man in my life right now.

Thanks for the go-ahead on the black, then. Black skirt it is!

I may or may not make it up tomorrow afternoon, depending on how well I can walk (stairs are not fun right now). If I don't make it, could you save me a jar of maple cream? *looks hopeful*

Nah, that's OK. :) I know there's a few folks at this that are allergic to cats, much as I might go all googly-eyed upon seeing a cat. 8)

Also, you would think that this weekend would be a good one to find a dress, with all the Columbus Day sales going on.... Greg's getting his shirt tomorrow (Kohls is going to be a zoo), and I need to find a new undercorset for my dress (a trip to RI may be involved). I've decided this one has seen it's day...

Hope it's just a simple strain and it goes away as mysteriously as it arrived. *hugs*

Glad to hear you had a successful shopping trip. Personally, I hate shopping, as it's hard for me to find something I really like *and* fits my budget.

Take care of your ankle, and remember RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). Btw, at least it's a good thing it happened *after* your shopping trip. Hee! Get well soon!

:-)

We have 8 oz and 16 oz sizes. They last for quite a while in the fridge after opening.
