Today while I was taking a bath, little Diamond came and stood on her hind legs by the side of the tub so I could pet her. After a few minutes, Malfoy showed up and started forward for *his* turn -

Whereupon Diamond turned around and smacked him several times.

He blinked, retreated, and took another step forward -

And she smacked him again.

He decided at that point that discretion was the only part of valor and boogied. Never mind that he's literally twice her size.....

The Diamond Dominatrix strikes again....

I'm reminded of Oliver demonstrated his soccer skills on poor Ginger, little dusty red kitty dribbling big red fellow all around the room. Unfortunately, it was way before the age of the digital camera.

*snort!* I can almost picture that, too. I remember Chimu turning from meek and fluffy to doing his best Chun-li Street Fighter punches as soon as Kinsey showed up and came within a 1 foot radius.... :)

Cats: Proof that male dominance is not any kind of certainty in the mammal world. ;)

I've been introducing my Dad's cat Rocky to our household of females.

There is no doubt as to who rules. Luckily, Rocky seems to be slightly ditzy and unflappable now (although he was seriously freaked out when he first got here). But if challenged, he backs right off. The cool thing is that our two alpha kitties seem to be adapting best to him. They're probably the ones least threatened on the cat hierarchy.
