- I had my desk chair recovered, and it looks marvelous! [livejournal.com profile] arionrhod had sent me the fabric years ago (a soft gray shell brocade with light blue accents) and I finally decided to use it. The re-upholsterer did a great job. If anyone in Western Mass needs upholstery work done, e-mail me for details.

- Malfoy-the-cat jumped a good three feet straight last night after a bug. Nimble beast!

- The Globe survives, but oh am I disgusted with the parent company (the New York Times). As former Globe columnist Eileen McNamara put it, first they pimped the Globe out during the 1990s, and now they're strangling her. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of what they did during negotiations was designed to bust the unions so they could sell the paper. *pfft*

- I'm off to Kalamazoo in the pouring rain. Maybe the descendants of Smack Daddy the duck will be swimming on the roof?

Hmm, I wonder if I could use that funky chenille upholstery fabric that's been on the shelf for years to cover mine? There's nothing wrong with the chair, which is new, except that I hate sitting on leather or leather-like material.

3-4 yards should do it. Ask to see a portfolio - good luck!
