What my dear friend Geoffrey Chaucer would call "The grete feste of Kalamazu" is over. There were good sessions, excellent books, mediocre dorm food, a lousy bed, a good suitemate, good fellowship and talking, dinner out with
handspinner and
hrj, a tour round the wonderful Victorian houses of Kalamazoo, much writing, and a great little reception at Gina the Patroness's house after the last session. Right now the maintenance people are picking up the trash (and a truly astounding assemblage of cigarette butts in a tiny bucket outside Fox-Eldridge - one could almost get lung cancer just *looking* at it) and the last people are getting ready to catch the bus to the Kalamazoo International (ha!) Airport.
I'll be in the airport from roughly 8:30 am until around 2:00 pm, probably without Internet, but with many books and some work to do. Ruby Redd performed splendidly, the new suitcase was a godsend, and overall, I had a great time. Don't know if I'll be back next year but if I do put off the residence semester in Lincoln it's highly likely. I really want to. :)
And now, off to catch the shuttle! See you on the flip side, dudes and dudines....
