I love Jerseys - they're beautiful, affectionate and fairly intelligent - like bovine cats, really. That mirrors the other Cambridge a bit, where we have livestock right behind King's College (cows or sheep) and a local vet keeps her herd of Redpoll bullocks on Midsummer Common.
Since he borrowed it, technically, it wasn't HIS cow.
I'd like it better if it wasn't part of a book promotion, nor a borrowed cow, but a genuine counterculture attempt to get a more integrated environment, where lawnmowers are replaced by the more traditional and efficient means of cropping grass.
There's a herd of goats that takes care of wild growth on a hillside along a high school here in Santa Cruz.
