*emerges from sickbed*
I meant to post this a couple of days ago but didn't get a chance due to incipient cold, catarrh of the lungs, etc. But I wanted to commemorate a visitor to the Office a few days ago.
One of my co-workers was outside having lunch when this visitor came quietly through the grass. The visitor seems to have been heading through our building's back yard toward the woods abutting the local golf course.
After a little research, I think I have identified the visitor: a spotted turtle. It was dusty, and sat quietly whenever someone would approach, but it was large (about a foot long including tail), dark with little yellowish blotches on its shell, and harmless enough.
It was a nice little reminder that we may work in a high tech office making and selling high tech software, but Nature is still just outside the back window.
*heads back to bed*
