We had a great Halloween party at work on Friday - some really good costumes, a good cake from Atkins, and fun for all. One of my co-workers' daughters visited, dressed as Hermione Granger, so I (Professor McGonagall) showed her a little wand work. It was really good, and Malfoy-the-cat did not maul the peacock feathers on my hat.
Crown Tourney in Worcester was marvelous. I hadn't been to a Crown in about four years, so this was the first year I got to sit inside the list ropes during the finals. It's a peer's privilege and duty, to be a witness to the bouts, and even though I was with a couple of friends, I found myself watching more intently than usual. The fights were excellent, and I was proud to hail our new prince, Sir Edward the Grey of Lochleven, and his princess, Lady Meggie ingen Lochlainn. They come from a strong, supportive household and should make a good set of rulers for Pennsic next year.
Today was the annual All Souls Day service at church, laundry, reading, Concentus practice, and a good deal of chatting. Now it's bathtime and bed, and work tomorrow.
A good weekend, but they're never, ever long enough. :D
