Betty's old housekeeper, Denise, is a devout evangelical Christian. Most of the time this isn't an issue - but today she sent me a forwarded e-mail about America being a "Christian nation" that was so riddled with errors that I couldn't NOT say anything.
So I wrote up a list of corrections (including a paragraph explaining that Scripture commands us not to bear false witness, and how my conscience wouldn't allow me to let untruths go unanswered, especially with Holy Week beginning tomorrow) hit "reply all" so that everyone else who got that e-mail would see my reply, and sent it out. I have this awful, numb feeling that I may have lost her friendship...but I simply couldn't stand the idea of people passing along untruths.
*sigh*
