ellid: (Malfoy)
First, I want to thank everyone for their kind wishes yesterday. I'm feeling much better than I thought I would, although sitting down is not easy; I'm finding it best to stand rather than sit or lie down, at least for now. My appetite is slowly returning, and tomorrow I'm to add milk of magnesia and fiber supplements to start things going again (which is terrifying me, but there really isn't an alternative).

Took my first shower today, and then a sitz bath. Watched Star Trek on DVD. Am rereading Cat of Many Tails, my favorite Ellery Queen novel. Finding that my old green nightgown is perfect at-home wear. Malfoy-the-cat is an excellent nurse kitty.

And so it goes.

Healing is a good thing!

Good luck. It's scary but with proper nutrition it ought to be perfectly safe.
If prunes are on the menu, they earned their reputation fairly.

Haven't tried prunes yet...so far I've been advised to stick to "breakfast-type foods," like cereal, yogurt, and toast. Tomorrow I'm going to try something a little stronger; right now I'm just not all that hungry, possibly from the anesthesia.

The pain is getting better, though, and the shower helped a lot. :)

Indeed. And as sore as I am, in a few weeks it will be like I never had the damn things in the first place :)

I'm so glad that the surgery went well and you're recovering nicely. Take it easy and be gentle on yourself.
