You read that right: legislation that would REPEAL laws in Minnesota guaranteeing equal pay on the basis of gender.

I hope the courts will shoot it right down, but without the ERA ever having been passed, I'm not sure if it's illegal, even though it's obviously wrong.

Be prepared for more challenges to come, for women and all sorts of other groups. There are many intolerant and fearful people in this country, and they are working against anything and anyone who doesn't fit into their idea of life and living. Religious intolerance is up, gay intolerance is up... sadly this is another sign of the times.

Naturally, we should keep fighting for justice, but it's likely to be an ongoing battle.
