First and foremost, the revised and illustrated version of the Impruneta paper was e-mailed to my editors last week. The illustrations (most by
helwen) were pronounced "fantastic," and now it's a matter of waiting for reaction, suggested edits, and then the part that I really, really hate, proofing the galleys. Tentative publication date is about a year from now, and yes, I will definitely keep everyone posted :)
Second, am sleeping better. Go, me.
Third, a project I've been working on for a couple of weeks was submitted tonight. No details until I hear back on this.
Fourth,
mizpagan and I are going to New York on Wednesday to view a truly special object: a 13th century piece of Chinese silk patchwork at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I'm slightly giddy at the thought of actually being allowed to examine such an old piece. No idea if they'll let me take pictures, but man, this is going to be fun!
And so it goes....
