I had a bit of a cold over the last week or so, and it wasn't helped when I decided to kickstart my LDL reduction by taking fish oil capsules. BIG mistake - turns out I'm one of the people who end up with massive, grinding, unremitting sinus headaches when I take fish oil. I now have a nearly full bottle of fish oil capsules that I need to Freecycle and/or give to a good home, and a recommendation that flaxseed oil is a much, much better idea.
Despite the headache, I hosted my friend (lj user=tena524) for the weekend. We hadn't seen each other in a few years, and we had a great time looking through some old lace and weaving she'd inherited from her mother (including a gorgeous piece of 200 year old linen that was grown, spun, and woven at the old family farm on Long Island). We visited a couple of bookstores, lunched and brunched, and ended up watching Blow Dry, one of my favorite movies, over T&B's house in West Springfield. I definitely need to get up to her place this summer since I haven't been there in at least five years, and that's way too long.
Today was back to work, and since the Horror of the Fish Oil was still making me a little shaky, I stayed home. Dinner was simple and rather silly, but you know what? A little cooked pasta, some vegetables and a bit of diced ham sauteed in butter and a splash of soy sauce, and Greek yogurt with strawberries for dessert is *delicious*.
And now to relax, recuperate, and early to bed....
