Snow

It looks like about six inches down right now. I'm waiting until there's enough light to see by to start shoveling. Unfortunately, I haven't yet located the extension cord for the electric shovel so probably will have to do this by hand. *shudder*

In other news:

- Siren is chowing down quite merrily on non-prescription Science Diet until the prescription stuff arrives on Friday. It's expensive, but God willing it will help.

- Fred Phelps, the most appalling bigot in America, plans to picket the funeral of Christina-Taylor Green, the 9 year old girl who died in the Tucson massacre on Saturday. Fortunately locals are planning a counter protest to shield the family, but the mere thought that he could do this makes me ill. What is wrong with him and his family, that he thinks this is right?

- I've contacted the ConBust con committee about giving a workshop on costuming on the cheap. Details to come.

- I have way too much to do before Arisia. So what else is new?

My gym membership just paid for itself.

This is the first time I've ever been able to shovel out the driveway without gasping for air and nearly crippling myself from the weight of the snow. It's a good feeling.

Made it to work

It was the eeriest commute of my life. Not only were there very few cars out, the odd time dilation caused by silence and blowing snow kicked in while I was in Hadley. It was as if I were driving through a ghost landscape where time and space and distance were irrelevant. Very strange.


And oh, for the curious: here's my electric shovel/snow thrower. Small and sort of wimpy, but it helped a lot.
