I'm with Common Cause on this one - the Kochs finance groups like the John Birch Society and other ultra right-wing organizations that have done much to undermine political discourse in this country. The secrecy needs to end.

Weekend update

- Birka was great, if exhausting.  I made it to <lj user=harpnfiddle>'s late thanks to Bad Googlemapping (and some black ice on Parker Street, which was terrifying) but we still made good time to the event.  I did a teeny bit of shopping, watched part of the fighting, and went vigil-hopping with <lj user=mizpagan>.    We then presented the raffle quilt in Court, made our meandering way home, and got in really late.

- I slept late today, skived off on pretty much everything except laundry, and am now contemplating ordering out for food because I really don't much feel like cooking....

I officially hate this weather

The bottom of the driveway seriously looks like two separate groups of small children have constructed fortifications to facilitate snowball battles between the Norwegian maples and the mailbox. I also have Icicles of Doom hanging over the front door, which in turn led to an enormous island of ice that made it all but impossible to get in and out of the house. It took most of a sack of rock salt to soften it up so I could whack it to pieces with a shovel and clear the front steps.

All this, plus ANOTHER !#$!@#$@!$@!$ storm coming in on Tuesday. Climate change SUCKS.
