Writer's Block: The name game
Jan. 31st, 2011 09:19 pm[Error: unknown template qotd]"Ellid" (pronounced el-id) was my very first Internet handle, back when IE and I were playing around on Twinkle and Chat at UMass. He was enamored of a book whose main character was called "Bevan," and since Ellid was Bevan's girlfriend, he started referring to me as Ellid on-line. I adopted it as my LJ handle because it seemed like the right thing to do, plus it was a way of reclaiming the name for me, not as an adjunct to him.
Would I change it? I've considered going with SarahD or SDavies because so much of my flist is SCAdian, or something to do with quilts, like "Impruneta." At this point, though, it's not worth the hassle.
