I went to the doctor today, and after a *very very very long wait* caused by their new electronic medical records program crashing repeatedly, got two bits of good news:

- Dr. B wants me to shift from the weekly 50,000 mg Vitamin D supplements to 2000 mg per day, effective immediately. Turns out that the megadoses are associated with kidney stones, and she's telling all of her patients to do so. I'm not objecting to this, since it'll be easier to take the once a days anyway.

- She examined my shoulder, tested my hand strength, and checked my range of motion. Her verdict: my shoulder problems are probably a bad muscle strain that will mend with ibuprofen and time. Weakness is a major symptom of same, and my hand and arm strength are excellent.

Let's just hope I don't make it worse shoveling tomorrow.....

Glad to hear it's just a strain. Is there anyone you know who does plowing? For $25 it might be worth the back-end cost in heat wraps and pain pills for the next storm.

Please don't shovel with an injured shoulder. Any of your neighbors have a snow blower or something you could borrow? Older kid who will do the job for a reasonable fee?

I agree-- pay a neighbor kid to shovel for you. I'm glad to hear it's just a strain-- let's let it heal now, okay? :) *hugs*
