Ellid gets an anal probe

Aka, my baseline colonoscopy...and with my usual insistence on being unique, I was semi-conscious and remember parts of it. Didn't know that part of the procedure involves inflation, which hurt quite a bit. I'm almost back to myself, although so far I haven't eaten much.

They found and removed a polyp, biopsy results to come. I understand that the majority of these are benign, thank goodness.

Oh how nice

I now have a big, oddly shaped bruise on my upper left arm...from the blood pressure cuff they kept on me during the colonoscopy.

Seriously. I've never seen anything quite like this before - I can even see the fold marks from the cuff itself, plus an irritated patch shaped suspiciously like a bandage just below my inner elbow. Even better, my right arm has a bruise from the IV line and an equally irritated patch from the surgical tape on the inside of my elbow.

I swear, it looks like someone roughed me up. Wow, Baystate Endoscopy Unit, way to go!
