My oldest, loudest cat, Siren, has been limping slightly for a few weeks. Two days ago Roomie noticed that she was having problems putting weight on her left hind leg, although it seemed to be a bit better. Otherwise she's eating normally, drinking normally, and yowling up a storm if she isn't fed on time.

I checked her leg and discovered a large lump at the stifle joint. I called the vet and got her in this morning. They're taking x-rays right now to see what this is, but the vet suspects osteosarcoma, aka bone cancer.

If it is cancer, I have to decide what comes next. My poor little girl!

Kidneys have gotten worse. Arthritis in both knees. No masses anywhere but around the left knee, which is NOT in the bone. Doctor is sending aspirated material from mass to pathologist, but it may be fibrosarcoma. If that's the case, Siren's prognosis isn't great, and when you add in the kidneys....

My poor little girl. I wish I could spare her what seems to be coming.
