Grievance hearing is in the works. Evidently they refuse to take the warning out of my personnel file. Even worse, the HR manager, who was not present at the original meeting, asked me in a concerned voice if I really wanted to go ahead with the grievance.

My reply: "Yes, very much so."

If they want me gone, I'm going down fighting, at least until I find something else. Being disciplined because I can't do the job of two people is wrong.

It sounds fairly hinky that they're trying to dissuade you from going through with the grievance.

Good luck with the hearing - the HR manager sounds like she knows something, though... As if they've been through this before?

Watch your back. This place sounds toxic... Hope you've contacted the DOL about your rights, and options, too.
*hugs*

Agreed in every way. Good luck with this!

the HR manager is nervous. Intimidation is a tool and it will bite her in the ass. Tell your union rep what happened.

anytime anyone mentions it to you, document it and report it. They are hoping you will tell the union the whole struggle is not worth it and that you will drop the issue.

too bad for them you are a strong woman with a rocking support network

I hope them bugging you about letting it drop means they're worried it's going to bite them in the ass, hard. People don't usually ask you to let something drop if they think they'll win.

Stick to guns, hon! If nothing else, you're documenting their incompetance. Hopefully, no one else will have to deal with it, once it's over.

Of course, if they do take it out but then still disclose something to a prospective future employer, it's grounds for a lawsuit.

Here's to hoping it wraps up soon in your favor.

Good luck! I hope you told your union rep about the HR manager.

Oh, I already did. The hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, and the shop steward thinks they'll take the letter out of my file because they don't want it to become a Step Two grievance. Those can get extremely nasty AND the regional union rep handles them personally, plus if the matter isn't resolve it goes to binding arbitration. I don't think they want this to go that far.

The way they're treating you sucks big time....
