I want to thank everyone for their support. I slept pretty well last night, much to my surprise, and am looking forward to meeting with my union rep on Friday. I'm under no illusion that I'll ultimately save my job (nor do I especially want to at this point - that meeting sealed it for me), but I want to prolong it until I find something else. I applied for a job last night on-line and have three prospects in mind, plus the interview on Saturday, so we shall see.

I hope so! I think prince_hring is right, and I should see about severance if it comes to that. I don't want money, but having my health insurance covered through September 1st so I can get that MRI paid for will be a huge load off my mind.
