I didn't read Bloom, because I really avoid negative reviews of anything because I honestly think nothing is as bad as many negative reviews say.
This review, I think did a good job, though. It was a good story, but I've read better. I missed the school year structure. There were places when she upped the tension but then backed off. She tried to be realistic but in the end somethings felt horribly contrived.
I still like the series; it's still one of my favorites. I'll still participate in fandom, etc. I would've liked a more satisfying ending, though, rather than the selected blood bath and neat tied-up pairings. If she was going for realism, life doesn't happen like that.
