Remember how I sent seven resumes off on Sunday? I've received the following as of last night:

Two interview requests, one for Monday, one for Friday.

One "we're reviewing resumes" reply.

One "I'm out of the office until Monday" autoreply.

One application being forwarded for fax return on Friday.


So far, not bad...:)

Work this week hasn't been bad, but being told that I basically sucked right before I left on vacation wasn't fun. That's why I spent most of Sunday applying on line. I've had it with that place - and it turns out I'm far from the only one. The poor woman who's been doing Payroll AND Accounts Payable for the last year has called a meeting to air her complaints and frustrations this morning. Unfortunately, she's not union so I'm not sure what good it will do, but it shows you how they're willing to use people until they break....

It was really dead for the first two weeks and I started getting paranoid that I was a superfluous body in a seat that would face layoff again but now that the Fall semester is starting up it's getting pretty busy and I love it!

I just hope they make me permanent soon as it is a union job and I could use the security and the probable rate hike.

Congratulations! Sounds like things are moving forwards for you on that front.

(Personally, I applied for one job while I was on holiday, and have just had an email back from the company (looks like a formula one, alas, though) to say that they will be reviewing applicants from the 20th, and contacting people from the 24th. Bad news is that they're not paying really anything like as much as I'd like.)
