I've been considering getting new flooring for my bedroom for quite some time, so tonight I pulled up a section of the carpet to see what was there. I was expecting particleboard, which is the subflooring for the living room and dining room.
Imagine my shock when I saw *hardwood* staring at me. I have no idea what condition it's in, but hardwood!
Guess who's going to be pulling up the carpet at some point this fall/winter and removing the tack strips?

Date: 2007-09-25 03:28 pm (UTC)From:Great to hear that you have hardwood. There is a tool that you will find very helpful for taking up the firring strips. It's called a tack puller. Any decent hardware or Home Depot or Lowe's has them. Example:
