I am to use antihistamines (not decongestants, as those are a no-no for me) and cough syrup, and if I'm not feeling substantially better by Monday, I'm to call and they'll get me during the flu shot clinic on Tuesday. I may or may not be allowed to get the flu shot, based on how I feel, since the cold that's going around right now is pretty nasty and lasts about a week and a half.

So...no choir practice tomorrow night, and I may or may not make it all the way through work tomorrow. I'm scared to death of infecting a co-worker who is severely asthmatic and ended up in the hospital the last time she had a respiratory infection, so I plan to play it by ear.

I had the damned cold starting in the middle of September, and it did knock me completely down (literally, I was having dizzy spells and clocked myself on a doorframe during one of them) for over a week, and then a couple of weeks after I went on the mend it came back nearly full force. I lost my voice the first time around and it has settled in my chest and refuses to budge. I don't have any other symptoms at the moment, knock on wood, but its annoying to say the least.

In other words, stay in bed with chicken soup and orange juice! This year's strain is beyond nasty. :/ I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

Don't know what decongestants do to you, but the only time I took one, I was awake for 24 hours. And pacing. And talking. I have a 1930s book about motor-racing called 'Need For Speed'. Nope, just give me Sudafed.

Hope you feel better soon, anyway.
