As for me, I'm spending a quiet day at home. Cards have mainly gone out, presents will be distributed this weekend, and life goes on.

What have you done? Collaboratively: roasted goose; prepared vegetables; eaten same; drunk a very fine Spanish red of which we met the maker recently; unwrapped stuff and watched nearest and dearest do likewise; watched rain - typical southern British mild damp end-of-December. So wet that Cat 2 came in and decided that the best way to get her paws dry was to insert all four feet into the oval opening of a 'Man-size' paper handkerchief box and sit down. All too full for Christmas pud yet but probably time to make innovative grappa butter. A Jewish Christmas (annual excuse for roast goose)...

Lesse...so far I've made 4 dozen CC cookies, 2 double piecrusts and working on the apple filling, hm has made bacon wraps and working on the deviled egg filling, ham in the sink getting ready for the seasoning....

And grandson and parents coming over in a few hours.

Ah, bless. Me as well. Aside from being in a small hotel with my friends from fandom and otherwise, I can think of no better way to spend a day. Well, there could be a multi-hour massage with a lovely creature who could make me feel all cheery in other ways afterwards, but you know what I mean. ;)

After spending the last month-and-a-half gigging at Christmas Dinners and doing the "Father Christmas" bit, it was a nice, low-key day. I got up bright and early in the afternoon, went to my Aunt's for a ham dinner (I think this may be the first day in over a month that I haven't eaten turkey) and now I'm back home, where I intend to bask in the comforting glow of the idiot's lantern.
