From Palazzo Davanzati:

Salon of the Parrots.

Bedroom.

Detail of the Salon of the Parrots.

Hallway.

These are all frescoes copying the sort of wallhangings that would go on the walls of a chamber for insulation and cleanliness. Pretty snazzy, no?

Very snazzy. Now, how do I afford having someone paint that on my walls?

Don't know...Although you could try piecing the general design and hanging that up on the walls, since that's apparently what the fresco depicts....

Very cool! How was the rest of that museum?

(We tried to paint something like the Salon of the Parrots design on wall hangings for the Florentine room of Carolingia's crossroads fair several years ago. We got the geometrics but not any further. Now we use them in our pavillion.)

Somewhere . . . just of the Florence room, I think.

The only way I know to post pictures is from Flickr, so I put a note in my journal with an example & link.

Also, may I friend you so I don't have to keep following along via Peregrine's friends page please?

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Yep. This trip has been a goldmine so far.

And today I go to the Bargello, where they have the smaller of the Guicciardini quilts. I doubt they have it on display since it's primarily a sculpture museum, but one can always hope.
