A. Finished Faye Kellerman’s ‘The Burnt House’ about ten minutes ago (I have a considerable weakness for detective stories)

A. Cancer, though I understand from those who believe in that stuff that my character is typical of Leo

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
A. One very conservative piercing in each ear

9) Worst Habit?
A. Reading fanfic instead of cleaning and ironing

A. If you identified yourself somehow!

A. To watch – cricket. To take part in – swimming.

A. The glass is always half empty, even though I am a consistently cheerful individual. Odd.

13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
A. Tell stories

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A. My younger son being very ill as a newborn.

A.I own a 1962 Massey Ferguson tractor. It goes, too.

A. Two Bengal cats, about twenty assorted goldfish and one ghost koi (called Banquo) in an outdoor pond, and three hives of bees

A. You’d notice the consequences of the answer to number 9. But you’d get fed well.

18) What was your first impression of me? (hmmm...careful!)
A. It would have to come from my first reading ‘New York Minute’ so boundless admiration would be about right. That okay???

19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
A. Way scary.

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
A. The removal of quite a few kilos would be an improvement.

A. Both

A. Grey

23) Ever been arrested?
A. No, but I’ve been given a severe telling-off on the street (very amusing to passers-by) and threatened with being charged with breach of the peace.

A. Bottle

A. Pay for my elder son to have the best possible treatment for his hypodontia – he has an inherited condition that means several of his adult teeth never developed, so he has a really snaggly (if charming) smile

A. Other people’s kitchens, with a glass of red wine in hand

A. No

A. See 9, or cook

A. To get out of the house.

A. Drawing.

A. Asparagus

A. Five Red Herrings by Dorothy Sayers (even though eyes still glaze over when the various possible solutions are read out.

A. Pierced ears (instigated by Walter Hunt's wife).

A. Procrastination.

A. Of course. What are you doing in Concord?

A. Don't do sports generally, but love to swim.

A. Pessimist. I'm rarely disappointed, and get occasional lovely surprises.

A. Check the flashlight on my keyring and compare books. One of us can read out loud to the other.

A. Not for public consumption, but you've heard all my awful stories by now, I'm sure you can pick one and at least hit the top 5.

A. I'm torn between replying "Only one???" and honestly acknowledging that there just isn't much weirdness going on around here.

A. Seven cats, one and a half greyhounds.
