Before this is either built or, more likely, eats the entire city....

I think we should call it "Clation" or something similar, and see if Toho Studios will make a Godzilla movie where the big guy steps on it.

I can't believe they're going to build it in a beautiful, romantic city like Prague. ICK.

What?! You mean, you wouldn't visit Prague anymore just because they've decided to build a gigantic octopus in the center of their city?
I think I'm offended on behalf of one of our neighbour-countries... ^_~ Or not. Gods, what a monstrosity!

Not that I could talk because my country does any better - sadly.
In Dresden they're trying to build a new bridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waldschl%C3%B6sschen_Bridge) destroying the whole historic cityline and the last bits of nature next to the river. The idiotic state- and city- governments are even risking the place's status as an UNESCO World Heritage! And by now the majority of Dresden people don't seem to even want that horror anymore with the consequences for tourism etc. And alternative - less horrible looking and nature-destroying - plans even exist.
I'd have never thought such deliberate, irreversible destruction of historic and environmental value in the name of "progress" was still possible in this time in western European cities! I was sure we'd learned from the architectonic crimes of the 60/70s... And we're gonna pay for this insanity with our taxes *grrr*

This is what it looks like now, without the monster-bridge they want to build right there:

That is such a shame. Prague is a beautiful city, and having that monstrosity in the center of the city....I hope it doesn't completely ruin the look and feel, but I doubt it. The concept for the library is very cool. I just with they could put it in a better building.

I agree with the phlegm comparison. Only if I coughed up that I'd see a doctor. Quick.

Seeing things like that just make me very sad...

And it isn't necessarily that it's modern (though I dislike very modern buildings in old cities), but that it's hideous.

Obviously the melting of the polar ice caps has effected more than the polar bears. It escaped and is eating Prague!

Where, oh where, is Steve McQueen when you need him!
