The noises of the night

It's very, very weird to hear soft, thick booming noises from outside, and realize it's the snow falling off the trees onto the ground and the roof.

The booming noises we heard earlier this evening were, in fact, thunder!

Apparently over here in the UK we had booming noises in the night which were actually an earthquake. I didn't notice anything, myself, but then I do live almost directly above a Tube line!
