Things that happened today

1. On the way to work, I reached up to adjust my glasses and the right earpiece came off in my hand. Fortunately I have Superglue in my desk and was able to fix them when I arrived, but let me tell you, highway driving with one's glasses at a precarious tilt is not fun.

2. Engaged the services of a tree/landscaping company to prune the trees, mow the front and back yards, cut back the rose bush, and rip out the hideous yew shrubs in the front of the house. Dave, the owner, is coming over tomorrow to discuss logistics, specifics, and timing.

3. Bought cleaning supplies so I can tackle the basement.

4. Agreed to catsit a delightful little black kitty for the weekend.

5. Started looking at specifics on new kitchen flooring (will probably go with vinyl for durability, although laminate is still in the running) and appliances (Kenmore gets high marks from Consumer Reports but there are other possibilities).


Tomorrow's agenda:

1. Cleaning the hideous mess in the basement.

2. Meeting with Dave the arborist.

3. Feeding Mini.

4. Lunch somewhere in Hadley since I'll be going there anyway.

5. A much-needed nap.....

If you're planning to stay for the long haul, go tile, not vinyl. We replaced our old vinyl floor with new vinyl last year, and promptly put some ugly scratches in it. Tile is so durable and looks so much nicer. We wish we had spent the money for the tile now.
