Turns out the little bastards Triple Felinoid has been urinating in my dining room for most of the last few *years*, including LAST NIGHT. There's staining all along the outside wall on the subfloor, and so far it's taken two coats of sealer (and will require a third) to prevent the stain/smell from bleeding through again.

I could KILL them. All of them. Anyone want enough cats to make a nice little patchwork pouf?

**************

In other construction news, the rot around the front door has been fixed, the painting is done in the living room (and looks fabulous!), and I've asked for an estimate on power washing and sealing the deck to prevent it from falling off the back off the house. Yes, the Last Homely Shack is turning into a bit of a money pit, but better I spend the money now than have to lay it out when I go to sell the place in a couple of years.

*mutters darkly about former co-owners not doing exterior maintenance as promised*

Would spraying the area with Bitter Apple help?

Considering the pelt size, have you considered slippers?

/me ducks and runs...

I think slippers would be splendid! With some nice artful miniature quilted patterning on the tops...

*kachoo*

Stupid cats...maybe an aumoniere out of Diamond, slippers out of Malfoy? It wasn't Siren because she lives in the bedroom...

Sounds like a plan. In fact I was thinking Malfoy's cream and cinnamon would be a wonderful contrast to the bright colors in the bishop's pillow... Although to be fair, you might need to use a surveillance camera to determine if it was both of the kitties or just one of them, since cats usually like to have their own space whenever possible. That's why we have two boxes, so each cat has their own space. Also usually makes it easier for us to tell which cat is doing what, too.

I think it's more likely to be Malfoy than Diamond, since the damage goes back years and Diamond wasn't here then....

Time to turn him back into a ferret?

Makes sense. Well, let's hope with all-new stuff he'll break that habit. If not, might need to get an additional litter box.
When my mum was cleaning up her new house, we discovered there had been animals doing their buisiness for a *long* time in her soon-to-be bedroom. (I won't get into the previous owner - let's just say it should have been illegal for him to have animals).

I mean, it was seeped into the subflooring, and nearly made me vomit, the smell was so bad.

Well, we used hydrogen peroxide after all else failing, and it worked great. Seriously, it was 99.9% gone after we used the stuff. After, all it took was one coat of oil paint to seal it, and we never knew it had ever been there.

So, just something to keep in mind.
