I admit it: for once, I splurged. But I want to make a really good impression when interviewing this time around, so investing in something from the Talbot's is worth it.

Here's what I bought:

Blue and taupe silk/cotton blend skirt.

White cotton blend shirt.

Blue sateen jacket.

Blue peep-toe flats.

None of it was what I thought I'd buy when I walked in, but it looks absolutely stunning on me. All I need now is a blue purse (hello, Macy's!) and I'm good to go.

Whoo-hoo! It's lovely! And when I got my last job, I was dressed in Talbot's. I hereby solemnly hand over my Talbot's mojo to you. xox

Hey, you need the mojo, too! :)

Seriously, though - thanks. Mum and Betty used to shop at Talbot's and I swear it was like coming home.

What a great outfit.

Thanks! I was very surprised by how good it looked, and good it made me look. The salesgirl I worked with did a terrific job.

The components look pretty good!
Any chance at a pic, cause you know, curious minds and all?

When I'm completely dressed in it, quite possibly. :) Thanks!

Tasteful & lovely. If you wanted to be a bit daring, you could go with a not-blue purse and/or some eye-catching accessories.

What do you suggest for not-blue? Taupe? Cream? Black?

ye gods, not black. black and navy blue is alphasarah's cardinal sin of fashion. ;^)

taupe or cream could work, though... not necessarily with the shoes. I think Clinton and Stacey would tell you to go for a red or green because really, the navy blue is being a neutral in that outfit.

beautiful!
I love their classic styles.

Believe it or not, I actually saved quite a bit on this outfit; everything but the shirt was on sale already, and they were running a 25% clearance-on-marked-down-items to make room for their next set of merchandise. It was still pricier than most of my clothes, but I felt considerably better knowing that I'd gotten a good deal.

And worth every penny!

Beautiful suit, and believe it or not, I think good interview clothes really do make a difference. Not so much that the potential boss will judge a person by their clothes (though some do), but I think most people feel more confident and self-assured when they know they look good, and that will show through in an interview. I'd say you're dressed for success - Good luck!!
