Just got a call from a collection agency. Take a wild guess who they were looking for?

I took a deep breath, told the caller that he hadn't lived here since 2000, gave them his current address, and politely asked that my telephone number be taken out of their database. I may have used an impolite term in referring to the person they sought, but I was very nice to the woman who called, as it's not her fault that her quarry defaulted on a loan.

I hope she manages to track him down, if only to save herself the possibility of waking me early one morning when I'm less inclined to be polite. Customers can be so rude, no?

You might want to get the name and address of these places and sent them certified mail letters to confirm all of this. It just helps to build a paper trail and a firewall for your personal credit.

Too bad that topic came up again. That there was a default? Not surprised honestly.

*snerk* I still occasionally get calls like that, though not from collection agencies. Usually someone trying to sell something, and I GLADLY give over his new phone!

Congrats on the new job! Shall we meet for lunch some Tu/Th in Amherst then?

Should you get repeat calls from the same organization, you can always offer to fax them a copy of the divorce decree.

What a putz...
