- Grad school/GRE. First, I'll be finishing up the application process this weekend and will basically be waiting on the recommendations. The clinic director from my old job and my editors my MCT have offered to write them, so they'll be good.

Second, I checked the GRE's own web site to see where my craptastic Quantitative scores fall...and it turns out that something like 20% of the graduate students in equivalent fields (like art history or history) also had crummy Quantitative scores. My Verbal and Writing scores *should* be high enough to compensate. If all else fails, I retake the GRE in October after spending a lot of time relearning all the math I did my damnedest to forget after I got out of high school. Thank you, New Math!

- Job. Speaking of numbers, I'll have to take a quick refresher course on QuickBooks this weekend with T, the man who is NOT buying the house with no drainpipe for his Jacuzzi. I'm not looking forward to this, but if it's part of the job, it's part of the job.

- House. My contractor got in touch with an electrician, who will be coming sometime next week or possibly tomorrow to do some very minor work. Contractor is also having one of his plumbers get in touch with me about a nasty, persistent drip in the kitchen, plus snaking out the drain in the bathtub. Fun times! Fun times!

I also need to excavate clean my bedroom on Saturday. It's going to suck, yes, but it sure will be nice to have all the stuff out and in its proper place.

SCA - tentative event schedule for this month is as follows:

9/13: Crestfallen in Ashfield.

9/20: St. Festus Fair in Dragonship Haven. Una and I are daytripping and getting a hotel because we damn near froze to death camping last year and are not willing to try our luck again. I'm participating in the Laurel's Prize Challenge and hope to see a couple of attempts at recreating the Impruneta cushion.

9/27: Coronation in Carolingia.

My next event won't be until St. Eligius on November 15th, then Bergental/BBM Yule, and then Birka in January. I'm not committing to anything else except local events until I know about grad school and my schedule!

And how was everyone else's day?

Got our first "Regretfully Decline" RSVPs today, and two accepts for invitee + guest that turned into two solo invitees.

So that invitation list is now knocked down by 6 in one day....

My acceptance went out today, and I would like the beef, please. :)

Also, mundane clothes or garb?

Thanks! :)

Mundane. :) Unless you wish to bring SCAdian garb to swing by Simplefare after the wedding with. Simplefare is being held 10 minutes from where our reception is being held.

Odds are the majority of us will be getting together at the hotel, though... (tempting as it may be to crash BBM court) ;)

Our house is always available for Birka, assuming it's still in Manchester.
