My new job starts today. I've reviewed Quickbooks, arranged my wardrobe, and packed a minimal lunch in case there's no place nearby for food.

Yes, I'm nervous. Not quite terrified, but nervous. This all happened so fast! Wish me luck, folks!

First off, even if this place is only a mediocre place to work, it'll be a lot better than the hellhole you were in so that's a positive!

Secondly, you've got a plan of action. You've found a new job, you're working on applying to grad school (which I've no doubt you'll get into. When I applied after having been out of undergrad for 8 years, my boss told me that the longer you're out of school, the more they look at what you've done. The facts that you've been studying quilts on your own and have even traveled abroad to do it, will look really good to them. It shows that you are dedicated to the subject and to putting forth a good effort.).
