Crestfallen was wonderful - much good fun, much fun, much fellowship in the broad sense. I officially took over Una as my apprentice from [livejournal.com profile] helwen, and officially handed over the office of Minister of Arts & Science to [livejournal.com profile] countessinn. [livejournal.com profile] countessinn in turn gave me clothes, in the form of a sock knitted by [livejournal.com profile] islenskr, and I shouted "Dobby is free!" as I scuttled out of court and to my seat.

I also finished up the last dribs and drabs of my UNL application and will put them in the mail tomorrow. My statement of educational goals wasn't quite what I'd envisioned it would be, but coupled with my CV and my recommendations, it should be enough.

This week I have to be in at 8:00 a.m. (yuck) but will be leaving at 5:00 p.m. Not looking forward to it, but it's nice and quiet that early, so could be worse. I also found a delightful little antique store/junk shop in the mini-mall across the street from the office, which is a great way to spend part of my lunch.

Weather is humid and disgusting. God willing it will cool down later this week....

Hey there - is it the place in the Carriage Shops? I love that little shop.

I've finally stopped stalling and scheduled my GREs. Did you have to take a subject matter test? I do :( but at least I can take it at Amherst College. Which program do you want to take?

I'm so sad I missed Crestfallen! I'm glad everyone had fun. I just KNEW that the "Dobby is free!" was coming when I got as far as 'sock'. Wish I'd seen that!

I actually turned on my a/c at dusk today. It's truly icky.

p.s. Sorry about the duplicate anonymous comment above; feel free to delete it. My browser has gone stupid and keeps forgetting who I am at LJ.

It's the one in back of the Moan and Dove.

As for the GREs, I didn't have to take a subject test, only the Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical sections. Haven't gotten the scores for the Analytical section yet but I'm not worried. Good luck with yours - I took mine at Prometrics in West Springfield.

Holy socks, you're only a mile from me! You probably commute past my house daily. NB: the bus stops (and waits, regrettably) at my driveway just before 8 every morning, so I apologize in advance if you get stuck waiting for my crew to drag themselves out to it.

We have GOT to meet up for lunch(es)! I love that place too - I have a fantastic Lane cedar chest from there.

I'll be taking my General test at Prometrics, same as you did - just the subject test is at Amherst College. Why drive when I don't have to?
