Short bits o'news

1. Cold seems to have turned into a sinus infection. I'm going to try the nasal lavage thing for a couple of days and then call the doctor. *argh*

2. After a random remark by a friend, my old hypochondria is reasserting itself and I'm now convinced I'm going to come down with diabetes at any second. Never mind that I have zero symptoms and my physical back in April showed totally normal blood sugar. *double argh*

3. Picked up dry cleaning from both local cleaners (a genuine Chinese laundry named, God help us all, Peter Rapid) and the one next to my office. Both cleaned well, but Peter Rapid is substantially cheaper. Guess where I'm taking everything from now on?

4. Coronation was moving and quite wonderful, even if I had to move Sapphy twice. Congrats to rufinia on her Maunche, and jdulac on his Pelican, and vivant Alethea and Darius, King and Queen of the East!

Also, my condolences to all who mourn for Duke Morguhn. I barely knew him, but he was a remarkable man and his passing took place much too soon.

5. Work continues to be decent. Very pleasant, even if I have the 8:00 a.m. shift this week.

6. The town collector's office did it again. I received two separate tax bills for the same time period, in differing amounts, neither of them reflecting the money I sent them in August. *triple argh*

7. Did some shopping when realized that last year's cleaning/Goodwill frenzy resulted in almost no wearable fall clothing. Will be visiting Macy's this week to make up remaining gaps in wardrobe since 90% of turtlenecks were too small or too faded for use.

8. Birthday shout-outs to all my LJ friends, plus special ones to Mistress C and mizpagan, who both had their special day on Friday. I'll be taking Mistress C out to lunch this weekend, and was part of a group taking mizpagan out to an incredible Romanian (yes, Romanian) restaurant in Enfield, Connecticut.

9. Have reserved hotel room and membership for Arisia because my friend Walter is the GoH.

nasal lagage -- you're braver than me. Heck, I can't even stand getting water up my nose at the pool (it hurts!), so I don't think I could try doing it on purpose. Then again, the pool water is chlorinated so much, maybe that's why it hurts? Let me know how it goes.
