Grad school rec, and other things

First and foremost, my friend Julia has agreed to write that third grad school rec, so I'm going with her. I see her every week at church and don't have to worry about politics and overwork preventing her from doing it. God willing they'll get it by next week (crosses fingers).

Also in grad school news, I had a nightmare this morning that involved court tennis played by a group of Laurels in a public park (they used hockey sticks), someone I didn't know telling me I needed to spin around three times, and the same person telling me that *none* of my possible career choices would lead to a job. Very depressing and disturbing.

In real job news, it's going okay. I'm finally starting to relax a bit and settle in, and get used to the place. I'm also upgrading my wardrobe a bit and wearing skirts occasionally, and it's rather nice.

And in area news, the latest Mel Gibson movie is filming in Western Mass right now. They're set up their catering command post at Atkins Farms, about two miles from my office, and will be filming some outdoor scenes in Northampton on Tuesday. I have no idea how Mr. Gibson is reacting to the colorful and diverse inhabitants of the Valley, but at least he'll eat well if he's getting his food from Atkins....

I think it's awesome that you're going back to grad school! You'll do great at it. It's also a great way to realign your life and your career. Frankly, I'm a tad jealous that you can do it, but I think it's a well-deserved reward for what you've gone through. Glad the current job is going well!

Well, I'm a month and a half in, and I haven't run into anyone forcing me to spin yet. Or that I'm in an untenable program (which I guess makes sense, because in my class, I'm one of the ones in a hireable degree, and that's just sad).

This year is a good year for upgrading the wardrobe I'm finding -- fashion has actually decided to make clothes that look professional and decent, I'm discovering. :)
