Date: 2008-10-13 03:28 pm (UTC)From:The thing I find almost more distasteful than the 'Obama is a Muslim' and 'Obama is an Arab' campaigns - with of course their respective rebuttals - is the fact that noone in the public arena seems to be calling people on the implicit assumption that there would be something wrong with Obama if he *were* to be a Muslim or an Arab. The 'sane' people seem almost as guilty of this omission as the crazies...

Using Obama's second name 'Hussein' in a derogative way... it gives me the creeps, it reminds me of our (french) fascist and far right wing leader, using the full name of our ex-prime minister(who had shortened it to sound more french) to highlight its turkish roots. Distateful, indeed.
