Obligatory panic post

I am ellid over at InsaneJournal.

Warning to my SCA friends: the blog is 90% fannish, so you likely won't find much of interest. That will, of course, change should LJ go down and IJ become my primary blog.

As for back ups, I'm waiting for the traffic at LJbook to go down so I can back everything onto a .pdf file, in addition to putting everything into LJArchive.

What's LJbook and LJArchive? Is this something I should look into for backing my stuff up in case LJ goes belly-up?

www.ljbook.com and www.ljarchive.com will, respectively, either turn your LJ into a .pdf file or copy the whole blog onto your computer. I just did the latter in case SUP does fold LJ.

Yeah, I'm waiting on LJbook as well. I don't think the middle of the night will work, as it won't be that late on the West coast. But I'm hoping extra early tomorrow morning might work (assuming I'm successful in getting up extra early.)

www.ljarchive.com is freeware that backs up the whole blog, comments and all. I just used it and was very pleased with the results.

www.ljarchive.com appears to be a placeholder page. Did you mean ljarchive? Problem with them is they're Windows only, and I'm on a Mac.
